  • On sunday we have a fellowship dinner at church and I need to bring dessert for 20 people and I can't decided what to bring, maybe you could help me out.   What would you go for or be hungry for? I want something with pumpkin or I love anything chocolate!

    -pumpkin caramel pound cake

    -pumpkin cream cheese squares

    -pumpkin  cheesecake

    -death by chocolate

    -pumpkin torte

    -marbled pumpkin cheesecake.

Some of these I've had and some will be new. I usually like when Mark tells me what he wants and he usually never goes for chocolate!

  • This has been quite the week already. We were gone last weekend and came home Sunday night and by monday most of us started with colds. By Tuesday night the twins and I were sick and today Danika was down all day and she doesn't sound too good tonight. Not amused that we have started out the winter like this. Need to get everybody on something to build their immune system. Today was very frustrating, couldn't hardly get anything done, when the twins were awake it was hold them and then I tried to get them interested in playing so I could clean and that lasted for about five minutes and we were back to step number one. I just pray tomorrow will be better and we will all wake up happy and ready to tackle another Friday. YEA!!!!!

  • How is this for a little girl who is teething? Sorry about the blurry picture, my batteries were about dead. She will chew on anything she can get ahold of, socks, rags, dishcloth and even dirty underwear  This morning the girls were hanging up the washcloths and this is how I found her, walking around the house sucking on the washcloths! Shes not eating very well, she would rather have her bottle and I hope thats the reason and not that she getting sick. Do any of you mothers have suggestions on what to give your one year olds for breakfast? They don't like eggs or oatmeal. They love yogurt {and I'm just about out, need to make more.} Its frustrating when they are so picky.

                           Fall is here!!

     IMG_0576

I love these cool morning and evenings. Coffee is extra good and it's fun to wear pull-overs and sweaters again. I'm ready for the snow to fly.

  • Why is it that EVERY TIME I make chocolate chip bars, they flop???? I'm so disgusted, they are good but flatter then a pancake. Do I need to add more flour or bake them longer?

  • Yesterday as I was getting ready to go to the dentist, I told Gwenyth she needs to watch the twins so I can shower. As I was finishing up I heard a loud bang and screaming and my first thoughts were one of the twins fell down the basement steps, ( concrete at the bottom) Soon Gwenyth came to the door and said that Danika fell down the steps with Miranda Go figure, she was wearing my heels and trying to carry Miranda up the steps and she was just about at the top and must of lost her footing and they both came a crashing down, needless to say they both cried for a while and I was sure Miranda was going to have a nice big shiner on the side of her head but it was red for awhile and then disappeared. For some reason Danika thinks she can carry the twins around, Miranda is about as heavy as she is, not quite. I think she learned her lesson.

At any given day if you would look into my fridge you would see a gallon of sweet southern tea! Well my dear friends that is going to change. I was to the dentist the last two days and my teeth have alot of decay!!!! Not cool. Its something that didn't just happen over the last two years but something that I had when I was younger and I want to blame my first dentist that I had, he just wasn't good!!! Hes older and I think its a hobby for him, and alot of my siblings had complaints from their dentist today about the shabby job our first dentist did. He was cheaper then most and at one time he might have been good. My dentist told me I need to quit eating sugar and I know the bottom line is sweet tea. Pretty much every night we would have sweet tea for supper and we all love it.  Now it will be only for special occasions. I learned to enjoy sweet tea when I taught school in South Carolina and we had it all the time!! You wouldn't think of serving water to your guests it wouldn't be southern hospitality!! And then when I came home I would make it but my family didn't enjoy it as much but after I got married my husband did so that is where it all started. After a hard day of construction and drinking a gallon of water, when it came time for supper he was ready for something else besides water. My girls don't get much candy but they got lots of tea and now they are all into drinking water and no candy  We'll see how long that lasts. But tea is so HUMMY!!!!!!!! Moderation will be the key and I just won't tell the dentist  I have bacteria in my teeth or mouth??? so if I can take care of that, it will help.

Thanks to all of you who offered prayers on our behalf about Gwenyth. God is so good and we just can't believe the difference in her. She goes to sleep on her own and will play all day and not worry about where I am and this morning she got up and went outside and rode her bike all b.y h.e.r.s.e.l.f.  About two weeks ago she would have never done that. She's more obedient and doesn't throw a fit when I tell her do something. She's such a happy girl. Thank you Jesus! He gets all the glory. Mark and I just have to marvel and we can finally lay in bed and talk before we go to sleep, before he would be upstairs and sleep with the girls for starters and then would come down to bed about 12 sometimes 2. That was no quality time together. Life finally looks brighter!!

  • Weaning, and wet beds.

IMG_0544 This is one part I do not enjoy and that is weaning my babies from nursing. I decided today is the day I'm going to start and I hear her screaming upstairs and I want to run and get her and give in but is is time, at least during the day. I wish I would dry up like the cow and then it would help. Thank God, she isn't screaming anymore. It will get better if I don't give in, and she does take a bottle if she wants too We are trying to  ' wean ' Danika from wetting her bed at night and it is HARD and I'm tired of washing sheets every other day. Some nights she does great and she will go for a few nights dry. I'm ready to buy pull-ups soon if it doesn't get better. We try to take her if we are up with the twins but if they sleep all night we don't get that done and it seems most times it happens around midnight and we are sound asleep, Any tips would be appreciated, what worked for you?

  • Happy First Birthday!

        I'm finally getting around to posting the twins first birthday party. Mom and Dad and my two married brothers and their families were here. {The ones that live here in the community}

    IMG_0471 IMG_0466

I am by no means a professional decorator, but I enjoy doing it and this only the second cake I ever did, it didn't turn out the way I wanted it too, but the babies didn't mind

The birthday girls, Mckenzie and Miranda eating veggies. So healthy. LOL!!!

    IMG_0478 IMG_0486

Mckenzie wasn't sure what to do at first and she was so worried about getting icing on her fingers so she very carefully dug her fingers into it and then would look at her hands and try to get it off, so unlike her sister who picked up the whole thing and tried to eat it that way but didn't work very well so tore into it with her hands and had a ball with it.

For their birthday gifts we gave them each a little animal car that you can ride and it of course has music on it and can get very noisy, thanks to their older sisters. It was enjoyed by all the cousins who had fun helping the twins open up their presents.

It's so hard to believe they are a year old. Where did the year go to? As I look back over the past year, I thank the Lord we are on this side. It has been a stressful year, my sickness and then trying to wean the babies from nursing, sleepless nights, teething, and now working through issues with our 5 year old, which is a story in itself. But the Lord has been good to us and given us strength for each trial and I praise Him for loving us even when at times we were unloving. We have had alot of answered prayer and so often I think I can solve my own problems or take care of the situation myself, and in turn, run into a brick wall and become frustrated and impatient and hard to love because I thought I could do it by myself and it never works. Will I ever learn? The Lord has really been working in my life the last while, especially in the area of faith and just giving my troubles to Him and not worrying. So often I'm scared He won't answer my prayer the way I want Him to, and that is not trusting. Increase my faith, dear Lord. I would like to request prayer for our 5 year old. We need lots of wisdom knowing how to help her. The thing of fear is very real to her and she doesn't seem to know what is making her scared but something happened one weekend when we were in TN, and we don't know what! It's been a stressful seven weeks for us and we think its getting better and then we'll have a setback and we are sometimes at our wits end, I could go into alot of detail but won't cause its time to hit the sack, but please pray that God would give us wisdom and strength and for healing for Gwenyth.

  •  Happy Birthday to the love of my life! He has reach the great age of 36  I'm so excited about tonight. We are going on date night all by OURSELVES!!!!! It has been ages since we've done this and I'm so excited about dressing up and going out with my man and to be able to eat and talk undisturbed. Mom is keeping the girls and our oldest is not excited about staying at Grandmas, she thinks she should go with us. IMG_0281 IMG_0235

Happy birthday honey. I love you!!!!

Happy first Birthday to my little sweetie pies!!!!!                                               Their birthday was last Wednesday, September 9th. I know I'm a little late :(   More to come!!!

  •  Last evening my family was here for work night. We started to do this this spring, every month we take turns going to someone's place for work night and then have supper. It's so neat to be able to get together and work and see some improvement. Here are pictures of what we got accomplished.

    IMG_0344      IMG_0346

We mulched the flowerbeds and did edging around the trees and mom picked my beans and cucumbers. We have cucumbers running out of our ears. Anybody want some???

We have been busy running to and fro on the earth. This weekend we pack up again and go to Ohio for my cousins wedding. Last weekend we were camping with my family and the weekend before we were to NC for a friends wedding. Thankfully after this we stay home for a few weeks.

The babies are growing and keep mamma hopping. Mckenzie has four teeth and the fifth is about to come through and Miranda doesn't have any, although I think she will soon. She sure has been crabby the last while.  It's hard to believe they will be ten months Thursday. We are enjoying them so much and they love if you get down on the floor with them and play and the girls do so good in entertaining them and they love the outdoors and their little pool. They have had their share of bumps and scratches already, guess thats a sign of growing up.
