I have never in my life had breast infection but today I know what it feels like and its awful. The pain is horrible and the acheness is not pleasant. Mark stayed home to take care of me, don't think I would have make it without him. Anyone have any suggestions on what to take or do?? It would be apperciated.

I have had them before and I remember how miserable it is. I know this sounds really weird, but it works. Take the outer (dark green) leaf of a head of cabbage and put it directly on the sore spot inside a bra. Leave it in for several hours a day until the redness is gone. Nurse frequently on the infected side first. To prevent them, you can take one of two cranberry capsules daily. It supposedly works like it does to prevent urinary tract infections- keeps bacteria from attaching to the milk ducts. Garlic is a natural antibiotic but I would be careful not to take too much for a tiny baby- might upset their tummy. I hope that helps!
I've dealt with that in the past and it is totally miserable! I would actually run high fever with it. I always let mine go to long and just went to the Dr. for it. Hot compresses have been said to help ?? Hope you get to feeling better real soon, nothing is worse than being sick with little ones in the house! SO, SO glad Mark could stay home with you and help with the chillun's! Blessings~
That's nasty stuff. I had it twice and wouldn't mess around. I went to the Dr and got antibiotics. If I would get it again I would get some asap, at least that's what it took to get me over it. Blessings!
I'm a bit late and I trust you have relief by now! I have had one with each baby so far... not fun!! I just took a warm shower, massaged the area, and manually expressed some milk. It worked for me, but my cases weren't severe. Hope you are doing better!!!
