Last Tuesday I had a tea party and cookie exchange at my house. It was a good turn out and we had lots of yummy cookies. I can hardly believe that our cookies are almost all gone and I was going to save them for Christmas.
We were going to go to Ohio for Christmas but plans got changed and my family is all coming to VA instead. My handicapped brother has problem with his knee coming out and so mom and dad decided they would rather stay here instead of traveling. He can become very irritable when he doesn't feel good or has pain. So now I need to clean my house and do more baking. I was looking so forward to going up to my sisters and then I was planning on staying up till New Years. Well at least we will save money.

The latest excitement around here is all the snow we got this past weekend. We had 21 to 22 inches and that hasn't happened for years. It was so beautiful to watch it and it didn't take long to accumulate. Mark was out Saturday, blading our driveway and also did some of the neighbors driveways and he was gone most of the day. We did get to go out and enjoy it with the two oldest after the twins were sleeping. The girls love it and they were playing house in the snow.
Church was cancelled yesterday so we slept in and had a very relaxing day. My family got together over at dad's for supper and we enjoyed chili soup. It was delicious on a cold winter night and then some of us played Monoply. A family favorite when we were little. The roads were nasty and what should have only took 20-25 minutes took an hour. Mark didn't go to work today so went shopping with all the girlies. What fun!! They actually didn't do to bad. I wasn't in the mood to go with the girls later on by myself, it can get pretty hairy sometimes. Last Friday I went to get a few things before the snow came and it was not a good day to go. Town was CRAZY. Everybody was out shopping before the snowstorm came. The twins were not happy and I was in Sam's Club and they were both crying and some people would look at me and say, "wow, your a busy mom", or "you've got your hands full", or "four girls, so cute" and some would smile and shake their heads!!! I think I shall wear a sign that says, "Yes, I have my hands full and I'm a busy mom and yes, they are twins.
I do get tired of answering those questions but I love my girls and enjoy taking them with me when I go shopping "IF" they are happy. I've had some very humbling experiences. LOL!!! One thing to be happy about is, the twins are sleeping ALL NIGHT!!!! It's amazing how much better I feel mornings. I think we should have done this training process months ago.
I love these quiet evenings when the girls are sleeping and we have some time to ourselves. Mark is watching a hunting video and I'm updating
One of my good friends and her little baby boy are coming to see me one day this week and I'm so looking forward to it. It's been a long time and I'm so ready to catch up with her again over coffee, oops, she doesn't like coffee so it might be tea. Trish, I'm so looking forward to seeing you again. There are some people who are "kindred spirits" she is one of them and I treasure our friendship and I can just let everything "hang out" I love my friends.
Enjoy the snow pictures!!!

I enjoy snow pictures so much! It's something I very seldom get to see in real life. I had to chuckle about taking your children to town and having some humbling experiences. When the children were little, my most embarrassing experiences usually happened in the grocery store! They are fun to talk about now, but not then!!!
Lucky, lucky you to have your old friends come home for Christmas and you get to see them b/c you still live in your home community! It seems like a very, very long time since I've hung out with "old" friends. I really and truly love my new friends but there is something about a friendship that has so much history that is just so rich and safe and comfortable. Anyhow, enjoy!
That picture of the girls following Mark in the snow is too cute.
Luckily he decided to leave work around 2 yesterday and offered to get my groceries on the way home. I am seriously wondering though if I will ever get out again. I mean, how long does it take for an ocean of snow like this to go away when it stays so blitzing cold??????????????
Boy, you've been out all over the place. I'm "stuck" at home and just not minding it! There is no way we'd get the car anywhere, David Lee spins and gets stuck w/ the truck trying to get out in the mornings.
@smilesbymiles - It will take a long time
Believe, if it wouldn't be for Mark's truck, I wouldn't be going anywhere. He just loves driving in this stuff and I'm so scared you couldn't pay me to do it. Sounds like I will be stuck here for awhile cause to took the van, We are going out for supper tonight, he is taking his crew out and no kiddos are allowed except for Peter.
The cookie exchange looks like fun, I would have loved to be there but we had one planned at Janelle's the next day so I was busy with those!
@Byersbunch - Too bad, I heard you had one planned with them. At least you got to exchange cookies
The snow pictures are lovely. We got to enjoy some while in PA, but not that much. Just enough for some sledding and a snowman.
