  • How is this for a little girl who is teething? Sorry about the blurry picture, my batteries were about dead. She will chew on anything she can get ahold of, socks, rags, dishcloth and even dirty underwear  This morning the girls were hanging up the washcloths and this is how I found her, walking around the house sucking on the washcloths! Shes not eating very well, she would rather have her bottle and I hope thats the reason and not that she getting sick. Do any of you mothers have suggestions on what to give your one year olds for breakfast? They don't like eggs or oatmeal. They love yogurt {and I'm just about out, need to make more.} Its frustrating when they are so picky.

                           Fall is here!!

I love these cool morning and evenings. Coffee is extra good and it's fun to wear pull-overs and sweaters again. I'm ready for the snow to fly.

  • Why is it that EVERY TIME I make chocolate chip bars, they flop???? I'm so disgusted, they are good but flatter then a pancake. Do I need to add more flour or bake them longer?

  • Yesterday as I was getting ready to go to the dentist, I told Gwenyth she needs to watch the twins so I can shower. As I was finishing up I heard a loud bang and screaming and my first thoughts were one of the twins fell down the basement steps, ( concrete at the bottom) Soon Gwenyth came to the door and said that Danika fell down the steps with Miranda Go figure, she was wearing my heels and trying to carry Miranda up the steps and she was just about at the top and must of lost her footing and they both came a crashing down, needless to say they both cried for a while and I was sure Miranda was going to have a nice big shiner on the side of her head but it was red for awhile and then disappeared. For some reason Danika thinks she can carry the twins around, Miranda is about as heavy as she is, not quite. I think she learned her lesson.

At any given day if you would look into my fridge you would see a gallon of sweet southern tea! Well my dear friends that is going to change. I was to the dentist the last two days and my teeth have alot of decay!!!! Not cool. Its something that didn't just happen over the last two years but something that I had when I was younger and I want to blame my first dentist that I had, he just wasn't good!!! Hes older and I think its a hobby for him, and alot of my siblings had complaints from their dentist today about the shabby job our first dentist did. He was cheaper then most and at one time he might have been good. My dentist told me I need to quit eating sugar and I know the bottom line is sweet tea. Pretty much every night we would have sweet tea for supper and we all love it.  Now it will be only for special occasions. I learned to enjoy sweet tea when I taught school in South Carolina and we had it all the time!! You wouldn't think of serving water to your guests it wouldn't be southern hospitality!! And then when I came home I would make it but my family didn't enjoy it as much but after I got married my husband did so that is where it all started. After a hard day of construction and drinking a gallon of water, when it came time for supper he was ready for something else besides water. My girls don't get much candy but they got lots of tea and now they are all into drinking water and no candy  We'll see how long that lasts. But tea is so HUMMY!!!!!!!! Moderation will be the key and I just won't tell the dentist  I have bacteria in my teeth or mouth??? so if I can take care of that, it will help.

Thanks to all of you who offered prayers on our behalf about Gwenyth. God is so good and we just can't believe the difference in her. She goes to sleep on her own and will play all day and not worry about where I am and this morning she got up and went outside and rode her bike all b.y h.e.r.s.e.l.f.  About two weeks ago she would have never done that. She's more obedient and doesn't throw a fit when I tell her do something. She's such a happy girl. Thank you Jesus! He gets all the glory. Mark and I just have to marvel and we can finally lay in bed and talk before we go to sleep, before he would be upstairs and sleep with the girls for starters and then would come down to bed about 12 sometimes 2. That was no quality time together. Life finally looks brighter!!

  • Weaning, and wet beds.

IMG_0544 This is one part I do not enjoy and that is weaning my babies from nursing. I decided today is the day I'm going to start and I hear her screaming upstairs and I want to run and get her and give in but is is time, at least during the day. I wish I would dry up like the cow and then it would help. Thank God, she isn't screaming anymore. It will get better if I don't give in, and she does take a bottle if she wants too We are trying to  ' wean ' Danika from wetting her bed at night and it is HARD and I'm tired of washing sheets every other day. Some nights she does great and she will go for a few nights dry. I'm ready to buy pull-ups soon if it doesn't get better. We try to take her if we are up with the twins but if they sleep all night we don't get that done and it seems most times it happens around midnight and we are sound asleep, Any tips would be appreciated, what worked for you?
