Prayer Request.......
Its been about three months now that I have been feeling sick. The beginning of Feb I was dignosed with hyperthyroidism or what they call postpartum thyroditus???? not sure if thats spelled right, anyways my doctor put me on bata blockers to take care of my fast heartbeat, shortness of breath, etc and I couldn't take it, I was worse off so I came off of them and got better for a few days to have another set back worse then the first round so i made another trip to the doctor to only have him put me on another kind of bata blockers, worst then the first time so I decided to watch my diet and stay on my herbs and low and behold in two days I was pretty much back to normal, praise God and felt wonderful for about three weeks and one Sunday I felt it come back only this time it was shortness of breath and fast heart rate, so I made another trip to my doctor and he did blood tests and everything came back normal, no hyperthyroidism, or graves disease, he was puzzled and I thought it might be food allergies so I started watching my diet, no sugar, wheat, dairy products, caffenine, (i know, whats left), but couldn't tell that big of a difference, plus my legs and ankles swelled so bad, so finally yesterday I went to my family doctor and told him the whole story. He checked my blood pressure, it was high, my heart rate was about 112 and he did a EKG of my heart and that was abnormal, the rythmn was good but my heart was working hard to pump so he ran alot of blood tests and today he called with the results, not good. I have heart problems, cardio something, I have no idea how to spell or say the second one but its something women can get after they have children and it can be serious. So wednesday I go see a cardiolagists and in the meantime he put me on heart medication. How I'm taking it emotionally, its very hard and its scary knowing that something is wrong with my heart but I want to trust God, He knows the future and I don't need to worry. Physically, I feel very tired and have to be careful what I do, washing dishes make me tired, taking care of my babies makes me tired, sweeping the floor, doing my laundry, is very tiring, so basically I do pretty much nothing unless its a must. I need your prayers that God would give me strength for each day and for healing.

I am so sorry to hear this. I will definitely be praying for you - and HANG in there - God will never leave you nor forsake you!!

Will be praying.. God still works miracles, today. Take it easy and cuddle with your girlies.. Make lots of memories now, so when you do get better, they will be able to look back on this time with fondness, you will too!

Gina, So sorry to hear your still not feeling well. That's gotta be tough with trying to keep after 4 little girls. I'll be praying for you! What can I do to help?

I am so sorry to hear this. Please take it easy and accept all the help that is offered! A time like this can be so scary-just the unknown. Take one day at a time. We will keep you in our prayers!
I am praying God will give you strength to be patient and trust Him during this time. Accepting physical weekness is a real challenge. Praying God will bless you with His grace during this time.

Gina, so sorry to hear about this. You all will be in my prayers and thoughts. God is bigger than any of this!
Gina that is scary! Cardiomyopathy is not something to mess with. Why did they not find this while you were pregnant? It usu happens then not after. Thank God you made it through delivery safely. Which cardiologist are you seeing? I can recommend some really great ones but let me know exactly what your exact problem is first b/c they do sort of sub-specialize.
@smilesbymiles - I'm seeing Dr. Baer. Dr. Moors is not 100% sure on it but that is what he is coming up with, so hopefully Dr. Baer will know for sure. I talked to Leslie and she was just having fits and is all worried. Dr, Moors claimed I had it back in 06 when I was in to see him the first time about my thyroid, cause I had the same symptoms only they were mild and didn't last long. I'm so thankful I went in on Tuesday and didn't wait until June when I was suppose to see Dr. Santulli again.
As in Anna Baer? What makes him think you had it in 06 if your thyroid stuff was wacky? Couldn't you be dealing w/ both?
@smilesbymiles - Yes, that would be Anna Baer, and I could've been dealing with both, as of now I'm not, cause my blood levels were clear on the thyroid.

I like Anna! She was a fellow at UVA when I was a nurse in the CCU and I think she's since moved to MJH and specializes in women's cardiology if I'm not mistaken. She's really sweet (and incidentally, tiny!! I think she's smaller than I am!) The reason I don't think you had it in 06 (although I could be wrong) is b/c if you would have, it would have gone beserk while you were pg. Women end up in the ICU sometimes b/c of the load pg puts on their already compromised heart. But that's my 2 cents. Also, if you had it 06 I would suspect it was a cardiomyopathy due to a dif reason than pg but again, I could be wrong. (More like HOCM or something). Anyhow, keep us posted.

Hey cuz, i had heard you weren't feeling good but didnt know it was that serious! Trust me I will be praying for you and will tell the rest of my family about it so they can help pray! God can do wonders through prayer!!! If i would live a tad closer i would come help you keep up!!
What ever the case keep trusting HIM, He will see you through! I know at a time like this it is so hard not to worry but that only makes things worse! I've been there on the worrying end of things!

Hi Gina - I felt so bad for you when I read this. I'm praying for you that God gives healing and strength to care for your family. It must be a real trial to go through. Hoping to hear from you again.
Oh, I just had to say hi! I saw you have twins and that makes my day. My girls are number 5 and 6, 17 months old now, I cannot believe how fast time has gone. It gets to be quite a circus, but what wonderful sweet entertainment. Here's a prayer that Jesus will send the Holy Spirit with His healing touch, and make you completely whole.
